in Stonewall, LA 71078 is seeking 150 Forestry Workers for a temporary, full-time positions from 10/01/2020 until 06/30/2021. DUTIES:
hand plant pine and/or hardwood seedlings with dibble bars, hoe-dads, or shovels, while carrying a planting bag that weights 35-40 lbs; planting is rough with undergrowth, grass, thorns, stumps, & old timber; assist with operating a machine planter; leave seedlings at the nursery; hand spray, inject or cut tress, brush and weeks with spray equipment, tree injector tools, or a brush saw. REQUIREMENTS:
Worker should be able to plant a minimum of 1500 seedlings per day; on-the-job training will be provided for workers. SHIFTS:
Shifts will occur from 7:00 am until 4:00 pm; variable weather conditions apply and hours may fluctuate (+/-), possible downtime. OVERTIME:
Overtime is available as needed, but not required. WAGES: $15.06 - $20.65, overtime wages will be paid at 1.5 times the base wage: $22.59 - $30.98. The employer will calculate and specify the exact overtime wage it will pay for each work site location. The wage(s) offered equal(s) or exceed(s) the highest of the prevailing wage or the Federal, State, or Local minimum wage. Wages paid weekly. FIELDS & WORK LOCATIONS:
Drew, Ashley, Union and Lincoln Counties in AR; Wilkinson, Amite, Copiah, Jasper, Newton, Winston, Franklin, and Lincoln Counties in MS; Winn, Grant, Jackson, LaSalle, Union, and Caldwell Parishes in LA; Barbour and Bullock counties in AL; and Stewart, Jones, Jasper and Upson counties in GA. Employer will provide daily transportation to worksite via company vans/trucks. Optional temporary housing is provided by the employer & the employer will pay the cost of optional temporary housing at no cost to the worker. Employer will make only deductions required by law from the worker's paycheck & will not make any other deductions. Employer will provide workers at no charge all tools, supplies, & equipment required to perform the job. The employer guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workday in each 12-week period of the total employment period. Transportation (including meals and, to the extent necessary, lodging) to the place of employment will be provided, or its cost to workers reimbursed, if the worker completes half the employment period. Return transportation will be provided if the worker completes the employment period or is dismissed early by the employer. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of at least $12.68 p/day during travel to a maximum of $55.00 p/day with receipts.
